THE SEA + THE SON
The last year has been an amazing time for The Sea: They played Glastonbury, SXSW, CMJ, Reeperbahnfestival, Musikfestwochen WInterthur, Incubate Festival, were in invited to play support for MUSE and many more gigs and festival shows in the US and all over europe. But there is no need to have a break…The Sea will be back in 2010. The worlds of fashion and music have always been entwined, and the brothers have attracted the attention of prestigious designer Zandra Rhodes. Zandra who famously designed for Freddie Mercury, Marc Bolan and Debbie Harry has chosen The Sea to be the first band she has designed for in 25 years. A staple of the fashion industry, her creative, extrovert designs are perfect for the boys’ rock and psychedelic sensibilities.
The Sons formed a while ago in Derby, England. Bringing together a diverse range of individual talents such as magic, fork lift truck driving, going down a hill on a bike, playing guitars and drums and that, they banged away in a variety of sheds, units and finally studios. After spending a year freezing and sweating in the rehearsal room and then studio they arrived at the wonderful „Visiting Hours“. Taking it`s lead from classic pop music from then to now, the music is unashamedly song based, with desolate secenes and dark characters painted in colorful music and melody. With the recent addition to the ranks of Steven Herron (front man Paul`s younger sibling) the live show manages to capture and enhance the full sound of the „Visiting Hours“ experience and the band are now set to conquer European hearts and ears in 2009.
